Eddie Munster Votes in Favor of the Patriot Act

Mr. Small Government cast his vote today in favor of the kind of government that can:
  • Use roving wiretaps on surveillance subjects which include U.S. citizens.
  • Utilize and access any tangible items such a library records.
  • Target surveillance of persons not connected to identified terrorist groups.
The bill failed to pass. However, don't get too excited about an end to the Patriot Act/Big Brother type of intrusion, this bill will come up again and not be subject to the 2/3rds needed to pass. Nearly two dozen Republicans voted with Democrats to reign in the bill. The bipartisan honeymoon was nice...at least for a day.
