U.S. Conference of Mayors (Including Our Own Mayor) Make History And JT Snoozes

This past weekend the U.S. Conference of Mayors did something they have not done for more than forty years...they adopted a resolution calling for the speedy end of U.S. wars and encourage the President to spend that money at home instead.

The conference has not formally adopted a resolution to end a war since Vietnam.

For his part, Racine Mayor, John Dickert discussed meeting with the Mayor of Kabul, Afghanistan and the poor state of U.S. infrastructure.

As war weariness grips the public and austerity budgets hog-tie local officials the New York Times thought it was a relevant subject.
