Paul Ryan: Rape & Incest Is Just Another "Method of Conception"

There are a lot of people out there who think the abortion exception debate (which as proven to be a living nightmare for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan) is just a side issue and a distraction from "real" political issues.

The Siren "forcibly" disagrees.

Every woman - and we believe it when we say EVERY woman - knows a woman who has been raped. One in 5 women report they have been victims of rape - do the math.

61% of rape victims were raped before the age of 18 and 29% before the age of 11. Of those children under the age of 11 who are victims of rape - 27% of them are raped by fathers, step-fathers or other relatives.

All of this is a tragedy of epic proportions - there is no debate.

To make matters even worse, over 32,000 pregnancies result from rape each year in the United States. Maybe that's not a staggering number to you, but it seems like a lot to the Siren.

There are telethons for things that affect fewer people each year in the United States.

So when Paul Ryan says rape or incest exception provisions for women seeking abortions are a distraction or a side issue - what he's really saying is that rape is not a factor in women's lives. The statistics do not support his cavalier attitude about the subject.

Further, Ryan is so very anti-choice he does not see any distinctions between methods of conception: rape and incest are equal to the careful and thoughtful family planning between a husband and wife. If it results in the fertilization of an egg it is a person. Period.
“I’m very proud of my pro-life record, and I’ve always adopted the idea that, the position that the method of conception doesn’t change the definition of life,” Ryan explained.
Let's just think about that for a minute..."the method of conception doesn't change the definition of life."

Not only does Mr. Ryan believe that raped women should carry to term - under penalty of law - the result of a brutal rape, he believes your 12 year old daughter or niece who has been raped and impregnated by her father should as well.

The method of conception doesn't change the definition of life.

Your ectopic pregnancy that will surely kill you leaving your three children without a mother is also not a good enough reason to terminate a pregnancy in Mr. Ryan's opinion. Just die...so much for the value of your life honey.

The method of conception doesn't change the definition of life.

Your son and daughter-in-law who have been trying to start a family through IVF (like Mitt Romney's) will find themselves on the wrong side of the law since IVF procedures generally harvests several fertilized eggs. Sorry kids, you'll just have to go get one of those rape babies.

The method of conception doesn't change the definition of life.

That birth control you have been using for the last decade is suddenly not available to you any longer - or to millions of other women because technically it prevents the implantation of a fertilized egg. You can turn those IUDs into a cute pair of earrings.

The method of conception doesn't change the definition of life.

That is what Paul Ryan believes should be mandated and controlled by a government in which he hopes to become Vice President. On top of it - he's proud of his position. Really proud.

Women of good conscience understand that abortion is a last resort. It is regrettable and to be avoided. Any woman who considers herself to be pro-life needs to ask herself before she casts a ballot in November - are there really no exceptions - EVER?

The majority of Americans do believe there are legitimate exceptions when having to chose whether to terminate a pregnant - no matter how pro-life they personally consider themselves to be. Paul Ryan's position is equal to idiot Todd Akin's only Ryan will be a mere heartbeat from the oval office.
