Reince Priebus Is Such A Dick

Oh, it just wasn't possible for Prince Reebus to make it through the general election without revealing his true dickish nature that we all have come to know and love back here in Wisconsin. Maybe it was the low ratings for his AV-club quality GOP convention, maybe it's the drubbing his candidates are taking in the press for lying, flip-flopping and being distractedly vague about their policies. Who knows?

However, when a guy takes to twitter to bash the President over the deaths of Americans in the Middle East and does so by actually defending a crazy, race-baiting minister in the form of Terry Jones - a guy who already has blood all over his hands from causing two deadly riots in Afghanistan - you have to imagine Priebus has possibly hit rock-bottom in the desperation department.

In his own words - sad and pathetic.

Of course Priebus' tweet misrepresents the entire situation. He doesn't care. People are dead. Just a handy prop for Priebus to try and make Mitt Romney look like he can handle an international crisis. The result being they look even more reckless AND careless in the face of an international crisis.

See, a guy named Sam Bacile made a movie about how "Islam is a cancer." Bacile is an Israeli-American real estate developer from California who really doesn't like Muslims. In his film he depicts "the Prophet Muhammad as a child of uncertain parentage, a buffoon, a womanizer, a homosexual, a child molester and a greedy, bloodthirsty thug."

This is such an act of grave disrespect to Muslims it could only be done to incite epic violence. Seriously.

Naturally, Terry Jones, the Gainseville, Florida "pastor" (who has already incited previously mentioned riots in Afghanistan by threatening to burn the Koran that resulted in the deaths of at least 21 people) had to get in on the action. After all is was September 11th.

Jones took to promoting the film in honor of the anniversary of the tragedy calling it "International Judge Muhammad Day." Jones doesn't give a shit that Americans live the Middle East and could be singled out because of his racist and reckless behavior. He doesn't care that embassies are prime targets for angry extremists looking to punish those they associate with disrespecting their religion and culture.

Jones, shoots his mouth off from Florida not Mecca.

As angry (and initially unarmed) crowds (who demanded a formal apology) started to form outside the US Embassies in Benghazi and Cairo the embassy released a statement referring to Jones by saying:
“The United States Embassy in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.”
This statement was released prior to the Embassy walls being breached and Americans killed. When violence broke out they released another statement clearly denouncing the "unjustified breach of our embassy."

By 9 pm. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton released further statements condemning the violence and the death of the US Ambassador in Libya and 3 other staff members - who were brutally murdered - we know this because there are pictures and video.

But in an alternate reality called GOP world, Mitt Romney released his own statement just before midnight apparently without any understanding the chain of events saying:
“It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”
If the events were not so sad, Romney's statement would be laughable. Romney's childlike grasp of events is stunning for a person who wishes to be President. He did not do even the laziest inventory before opening his yap.

The embassy not the White House released the tweet to try and calm the situation before it became violent. Sadly they were not successful.

But it gets worse.

Capitalizing on the deaths and violence clearly for political purposes...on September 11th, no less...stupid moron, GOP Chairman, Reince Priebus tweeted:
"Obama sympathizes with attackers in Egypt. Sad and pathetic."
Sweet. Of course, following Priebus' logic if Obama was sympathizing with the attackers that means Reincie and Romney were defending Jones and Mr. Bacile (who has now gone into hiding) for inciting murder and violence.

So while Americans in Libya and Egypt were still in harms way - with embassy fires still burning, Romney and Priebus toss a little more gasoline on the situation just to look tough and ignorantly blame the victims. This morning, Romney doubled down on his criticism by adding that it is "never too early for the United States government to condemn attacks on Americans and defend our values."

Our values? Is that how we describe what Terry Jones does now?

Swing and a miss.
